Covaleda, Súria.
Execution dates 2022
Technical assistance service for the development and planning of the Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan, which includes activities such as strategic conceptualization, coordination with local stakeholders, the design of strategies for the valorization of natural and cultural resources, and the planning of sustainable tourism products.
The Covaleda “Entrepinos” Sustainable Tourism Plan proposes a set of actions that position tourism as a driver of socioeconomic recovery in a municipality affected by depopulation and the disappearance of the timber industry. Its central focus is the creation of an elevated walkway in the largest pine forest in Europe, a natural area of high ecological and scenic value. This infrastructure, conceived as an experiential and interpretive resource, will include themed stations that will allow visitors to discover the surroundings from a new perspective, promoting their conservation and enhancement, and will also incorporate an accessible section. The project is complemented by the development of themed routes and the digitalization of the tourist office.
The Entrepinos Tourism Development Plan (TDP) represents an opportunity to boost resident activity and generate employment through a sustainable tourism model.
